Read This to Make You Smarter and Therefore More Attractive

Instead of wasting away in the doomscroll of eternity while what’s left of your brain rots away (desexualising), here are a few interesting distractions we’ve come across for you to read (hot!):

Subscribe to Sam Kriss’s Substack, Numb at the Lodge
Ah, man, I love this guy’s writing so much. He’s just a clever, funny guy writing about what’s happening in the world. I don’t know anyone who writes like him, which is a good thing.

Ottessa Moshfegh’s Substack, It’s Ottessa, bitch.
One of the most celebrated modern-day authors (maybe you’ve heard of My Year of Rest and Relaxation?) has no social media but runs this hilarious and insightful Substack. Go figure.

Perfectly Imperfect.
Yet another Substack. Mostly interesting people talking about things they are into. Good for discovering new people (they keep popping up!?) and new things. Charli XCX, Michael Imperioli, Francis Ford Coppola, Ayo Edibiri, Nardwuar, Danny Brown and Lena Dunham are amongst those featured.

SCAM INC, The Economist
Yes, there are still dudes emailing and promising millions while scamming old people out of their pensions and life savings, but it’s so much more than that now. There are full-blown cities and scam states operating on a scale as big as the drug trade.

Patricia Arquette on Trump, communes, art and ageing: ‘When I was growing up the whole world was pretty creepy’, The Guardian
God, I miss Severance!

Israel and the delusions of Germany’s memory culture, The Guardian
“Germany embraced Israel to atone for its wartime guilt. But was this in part a way to avoid truly confronting its past?”

‘I stripped away this caricature that I created’: Pamela Anderson on makeup, activism and gardening, The Guardian
I've always been a huge fan of Pamela—she's my girl. I even have a tattoo of her signature from her whirlwind marriage to Tommy Lee.
