10 Things I Hate About You ft. Otis Pavlovic (Royel Otis)
Otis is one half of Australian indie-pop duo Royel Otis, best known for their covers of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder on the Dancefloor and The Cranberries’ Linger, as well as their own hit Oysters in My Pocket. The band recently released their sophomore album, Hickey, which earned them their first Billboard No.1 with the song Moody.
We first met Otis and the band at Primavera a few years ago and have since seen them live more times than I’ve seen my family in the last two years. Otis is as sweet as they come and has the voice of an angel. I think I teased him about 43 times at Lily’s and my wedding, telling him we were setting up for him to perform Linger.
Otis’s thoughts:
1. Something you’re into right now
Sushi, I’m always into sushi.
2. Something you’re not into right now
Bugs. Invasive bugs.
3. Song you’re listening to at the moment
Broncho’s latest album, Natural Pleasure has been on repeat a lot.
4. What’s your favourite drink?
A cold Coke always hits good.
5. Who was your childhood crush?
My preschool teacher was my first crush. I can’t remember her name exactly.
6. LA or Sydney?
Sydney, it’s the hometown.
7. One thing you can’t go without
All of the above.
8. Guilty pleasure
Hotel room service in bed while watching a movie.
9. Go-to snack
Olives or pickles, if I can get them.

The guitar chords to Old Man by Neil Young.
