10 Things I Hate About You ft. Alex Trias
Alex is our ADHD-brained, fructose-intolerant (being allergic to fruit is insane, surely) friend who’s been in charge of Primavera Sound’s legal & biz dev for the past six years and counting. What does that mean? He is the lawyer for the festival. A very stressful job, we’re sure—though you’d never guess it from his permanently happy-go-lucky demeanour.
Trained as a lawyer, but does his best not to act like one. After studying law in Barcelona and New York, an LLM split between Barcelona and Singapore, and a brief-but-traumatic stint at a law firm, Alex ran to the hills—or, more accurately, to NYU, where he did a master’s in music business and (according to Alex) had his brain lovingly rewired by the the city.
In his spare time, Alex meditates twice a day and is a self-taught music producer. Alex loves debating but hates how much he loves politics. Right now, he’s building a music production and creative studio in the Costa Brava with a friend. More on that soon.
“I like breaking things, just to see how they can be rebuilt, or turned into something new.”
With Primavera 2025 barely two weekends behind us, we figured now’s the perfect time to feature Alex and his thoughts.
Thoughts:
1. Something you're into right now
Primavera Sound!!!!! Also been reading a lot about consciousness lately.
2. Something you’re not into right now
Not into global negativism. More constructive rebellion, less doom! I know it seems impossible, but we need to try harder.
3. Your first-ever concert, age, and location
Eric Clapton, Barcelona. 11 years old.
4. Conspiracy theory you believe in
Remember that dress (blue/black vs white/gold), or Yanny vs Laurel, or stuff like that? I always thought these weren’t just random, but planned distractions whenever something serious was happening in the world (political, corruption, military…). Like a last-resort distraction button. Now it feels like they just left that button pressed 24/7.
5. Go-to recipe
Spaghetti carbonara, and my guacamole with pistachio.
6. What perfume/cologne do you wear?
Loewe 7.
7. What’s your favourite plant?
Anoectochilus. We had one called Paquita, and my friend Mousta killed her.
8. Bowling or ice skating?
Bowling, because I’ve never tried ice skating. But for sure, I’d prefer ice skating.
9. What is your favourite soup?
My mum’s crema de calabacín (zucchini cream soup).
10. What’s your go-to hangover order?
Eggplant green curry (spicy!).
